Instrumentation Assembly Technician – Engineering & Measurement Equipment
📍 Eccles, Manchester (M30) | Permanent | £28,000-£32,000 + progression + benefits
👨🔬 What you’ll be doing
* Assemble and build high-precision scientific measurement equipment
* Work with shop tools and apply mechanical and electrical techniques
* Collaborate with designers, engineers, and production teams to solve technical challenges
* Use CRM systems to locate parts, follow documentation, and maintain production standards
* Troubleshoot and modify components to resolve design issues
* Occasionally travel overseas to support global customers
🎯 What you’ll need
* A full UK-based apprenticeship in mechanical, electrical, or scientific support (Essential)
* 2+ years’ experience assembling or testing instrumentation/electromechanical equipment
* Strong documentation discipline and understanding of fits/tolerances
* PC literacy and confidence using digital systems (e.g. CRM)
* A hands-on, proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
* A willingness to learn new skills and support continuous improvement
